1948
From brewery to cosmetics manufacturer
When Emil Kiessling, the owner of the Georgensgmünd Brewery, is asked by American officers what he needs to continue his business he answers "Korn" (grain), without knowing the meaning of the English word "corn". As a true entrepreneur, Kiessling demonstrates his inventive spirit and uses the substances released from maize fermentation to produce hair tonic.
1960er
Continuing the success
Following the success of the first cosmetic product the line is gradually expanded always supported by an innate understanding of the needs of the market.
1970er
Expansion and growth
This was followed, among other things, by investments in modern machinery. This favours the expansion of the product range.
1980
Sensational start
At the end of the 1970s Emil Kiessling added sun care to his product range and thus ensured rapid growth. The Ombra sun cream enjoyed remarkable success right from the start.
1986
Sale
The company founder Emil Kiessling decides to sell the company to Wella AG for reasons of age.
2003
Transfer
Wella AG - and thus also Emil Kiessling GmbH - are sold to the global consumer goods group Procter & Gamble.
2006
Mrs Waltraud Reichardt, owner of the Reichardt Group, acquires Emil Kiessling GmbH. With the establishment of an innovative research and development department she puts the company on the road to sustainable success once again.
2007
Management handover
Mrs Martina Reichardt-Demirtas takes over the management and continues her mother's strategy.
2009
State-of-the-art research
In November 2009 the laboratory centre, equipped with the latest technology, was put into operation at the site in Erzhausen. A competent team of experienced employees carries out research here for the success of your products
2010
Focus on sustainability and modernity
With the construction of a new, modern water treatment plant as well as a batch-controlled raw material warehouse with around 1,300 pallet spaces, Emil Kiessling GmbH once again demonstrates its innovative strength. The production spectrum was expanded to include the large domain of hair colour.
2012
Certified quality
Continuous audits, for example in accordance with ISO 9001, BRC-CP, IFS HPC and numerous other certifications, guarantee sustainable compliance with legal and customer-specific requirements.
2014
Development and implementation of a risk management system according to the specifications of current certification standards (ISF HPC, BRC-CP). Products gain certification according to the NaTrue standards. Expansion of the microbiology laboratory (S2). Expansion of the storage areas by 5,299 shelving spaces and 1,400 m2 of block storage.
2016
Expansion of the factory
New installation of a fully automatic tube filling line and commissioning of a state-of-the-art automated packaging line for special products.
2018
Installation of a sleeve system
Successful installation of a sleeve line for the filling of bottles of various formats, automatic packaging and final palletising of the shipping boxes.
2020
Expansion of the machinery
Commissioning of a new 10-tonne agitator.
2022
Commissioning of a new mixing plant & expansion of a new core area
Continuous expansion and modernisation of our machinery with a 6.6-tonne emulsion agitator and enlargement of our raw materials warehouse.
